Best the PS4 could get is 60fps, and that's if the game is optimised and intent on delivering 60fps. Mafia 2. I’m currently working my way through the DLC for Mafia II: The Definitive Edition. I finished the main story for Jimmy, and now I’m on his revenge arc and it is hot garbage! I’m playing on Medium difficulty because I want some challenge, but I would never try it on hard. There are just so many problems with it.
For reference, I've played and beaten Mafia 2 Definitive and a decent chunk of Mafia 3. Hanger 13 did a much better job with the Mafia 1 remake than they did with their Mafia 2 remaster. I'm not sure whats the 'Definitive' part of Mafia 3 is beyond simply bundling all the DLC togather, but Mafia 3 plays the best out of the three.
They all 3 were great imo, back in the day Mafia was something special on pc. Got several friends to play it & they all loved it. 2 was also really great, both 1 & 2 have the best stories imo. 3 was a lot of fun to play & cars & guns were done really well, story wise it's probably the weakest of the 3, but it deserves more than most say about it.
Mafia III's melee came in two flavors- brutal takedowns associated with combat, which were great; and then badly scripted fights that played much worse than II. Overall, I'd say Mafia II had the best melee. Cars/Driving: Mafia I and III are tied in terms of car variety, although II isn't shabby.

Well, I'm just remembering something that is actually a huge downside. If they implement 60 FPS for Mafia Definitive Edition, it will probably run as the downgraded Xbox One version, without One X optimizations. This is how FPS Boost works for Battlefield 1 and V, as an example. For most games, it's just a quick workaround.

I fortunately had no issues with 2, but this update has seriously messed up the visuals in Mafia 3 for me. Game plays ok, but isn't running at 4k on my Xbox One X (it was before the update), and the framerate drops really bad which I had no issue with before.
