Honestly, the 335 would leave you strapped for cash. Buying a high mileage one without at least 5K saved for repairs is just asking for trouble. As for the 328i & 330, you're not going to get 350hp with out a supercharger which is like 5K. If I were you, I'd save a bit more & get a Lci 328i (2009-2011).

It's only about $1,700. It's almost worth it just for the anthracite headliner, but you also get the M Sport steering wheel, which is great, you get the very nice unique wheels and you do get rear park distance control, which is worth $375 retail. www.bmwcca.org member #388003 - Use me as a referral & you could win a one day ///M Driving School

In comparison, the 328i get more like a miniaturized 5-series vs. an upsized 2-series. It was a great car, could still out-handle most four door sedans despite being just a base model, but the 2-series is smaller, lighter, and more agile. Due to the weight savings, my M240i is also more fuel-efficient than my 328i or my Lexus IS. In Edmunds performance testing, a manual-equipped 328i sedan covered zero to 60 in 5.9 seconds, while an automatic 328i M Sport did it in 5.4 seconds -- in both cases, quicker than any of the car Used prices for the F30 seem to be around $15k to $35k. Since its a fairly new vehicle it’s still in its major devaluation stage. This causes used prices to be very unpredictable. Brand new you can get a 328i F30 from about $40k. A 340i can be had from around $50k. The F30 is rather obviously way more expensive than the E90. E90 vs F30: M3
Paddle shifters are standard on 328i, 328d and 340i models. BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system is optional across the range. BMW introduced the new 3-series in May, it goes on sale in August.
42 Photos. On paper Jaguar swiftly wins the battle of the two engines. After all, the 335i's 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six makes just 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Compare that with
Big difference -- and real world difference is likely greater than EPA estimates. Both cars have plenty of power (plenty-plenty! in the 335i); but most people would care quite a bit about 25% difference in real world gas mileage. That's like the difference between spending $2,000/year on gas vs. $2,500.
Debating 328i vs 335i (xdrive) Was pretty much ready to pull the trigger on the 328i and then after reading some reviews was kind of shocked at how good of fuel economy the 335 gets and I also hadn't realised the increased cost included some extras (like the xenon lighting package I was going to pay for in the 328). The 325i and 330i engines were both 3.0-liter inline 6's, but different engines. The 330i produced 255hp vs. the 215hp in the 325i. The 328i however, is the engine from the 330i, which is detuned to 230hp, I believe it has different software and a single stage intake vs. a 3-stage intake that it had in the 330i.
Driving the cars back to back (I have a 328i M-Sport and a 335i M-Sport), the steering is lighter and turn in is more convincing. In stock M-Sport form, the 328i understeers more reluctantly than the 335i probably due to having less weight. However, the difference is not huge and both handle very well.
\n \ndifference between 328i and 335i
The noise levels of the 28i reported in the Edmunds test seem very low at WOT and cruising. Car and Driver reported noise levels for the X3 28i in a comparison test of 37 dBA at idle, 71 dBA at full throttle and 67 dBA at 70 mph cruise. Unfortunately, I could not find similar data from C&D for the X3 35i. Having owned RWD cars, the biggest difference is replacing joints and bearings on the drive wheels. There is a slight penalty in performance and gas mileage (a bigger penalty in the 328 than the 335). I have seen the 325 auto, AWD clocked at 9 seconds to 60, while a 328 rwd stick can do it in 6 seconds. F30 328i Most features above are the same for this car. where they are not, i have listed below. interior - i selected a base model care instead of a 328i from the LUxury line. I got in the car and it was immediatly obvious. it had the same look but the feel of it was completly different. it felt cheaper than the Modern line that 335i had. yIN5Avw.
